I have been asked a few times lately about t-shirts.
T-Shirts are the perfect building block for so many outfits. They are a great staple piece to have in your wardrobe, they’re versatile, practical & comfortable.
I have a white, black & grey t-shirt in great condition at all times in my wardrobe. My go to brand is Sportsgirl. Their basics range of tees is around $25, I know my size, they’re always in stock & if I ever come across them on the sale rack I pick up a couple to have for the next round! Because I wear them pretty much every day they don’t last longer than a season, especially the white one! But because of the price point & the fact I take no care in my clothes washing, I don’t mind this kind of turn around.
If your laundry skills are better than mine & you don’t mind paying a bit more, Country Road tees last forever & Bassike are gorgeously on trend & well made.
I’m going to show you a variety of tees at a range of prices that will hopefully help you in your t-shirt endeavours & fill in a few of those wardrobe gaps.
The Basics – Black, White & Grey
Must Have Grey Tees, perfect wardrobe additions, in basic black, white or grey they’ll never date. Or be bold & try a cream, navy or coral to step outside your comfort zone! Scoop neck or V, find one you love & stick with it!
Keira Short Sleeve V Tee $14.95 from Cotton On, Cap Sleeve T-Shirt $34.95 from Country Road, Scoop V Neck with Tail $90 from Bassike
The Stripe
The next Basic Tee that will work in all sorts of situations is the Stripe. Red, black or navy, choose a stripe to suit!
Stripe Yourself Tee $40 Well Be Elevn, Zig Zag Stripe T-Shirt $60 by Country Road, Stripe Linen Tee $60 by Witchery
More Than A Tee
How about a tee with a bit of edge? A tee that doesn’t need a blazer or statement jewellery to be dressed up is always a bonus! This is a great time to spend a little less on an on trend piece that won’t matter if it doesn’t last the season, or splurge on a piece will really make an impact on your wardrobe!
Stripe Splice of Life Tee $30 by Dotti, Sequin Panel Tee $50 by Seed, Allie Large Grid Check Oversize Tee $24 by Boo Hoo
Graphic Tee
I love a Graphic Tee, what’s not to love? I think we should all have something profound emblazoned on a t-shirt somewhere in our wardrobe, so much fun!!
Boyfriend T-Shirt Brie Mine $25 by ASOS, The Nineties Tee $40 by Lock & Key Clothing, Guns N Rose Text Crew $20 by Cotton On (or two for $30!!)
In my next post I’m going to show you a few different ways to wear your Tees to get maximum wear from them – they’re not just for jeans!
Stay tuned for a few t-shirt alternatives in Tops & Tanks in the next week or so.
