Elsa is one of those women who always seems to have it all going on. She’s stylish, super smart, runs her own successful business, juggles 4 children, a self employed Hubby & still has a sensational sense of humour!
A WA country girl, Elsa’s home town was the small wheat belt town of Kondinin. Growing up at boarding school, Elsa dreamed of big things & knew one day she wanted to be her own boss. Hairdressing gave her this opportunity & 8 years ago Elsa started her own business Spoilt Hair Retreat in Wembley.
Running a busy salon while still working on the floor as a Stylist keeps Elsa motivated.
Elsa loves the complexities of managing & mentoring staff, especially the juniors. From the behind the scenes running of the business, to the day to day interaction & good old gossip with her Clients, Elsa excels at all elements of managing a successful business.
You only need to spend time at Spoilt to see what a happy & vibrant place it is to work.
Elsa & husband Simon (Mitch) have 4 kids between them, Coco is 8, twins Indiana & Charlie are 5 & newest addition Jett is 1. Mitch has his own building company Mitchell Custom Homes & built the modern, coastal Scarborough townhouse they are currently living in.
Elsa’s sense of style is evident throughout the home & she is proud of the project. The home was being judged in the Small Lot Housing category for the Housing Industry Awards at the time I was visiting. Fingers & toes crossed for some great news!
Elsa’s 10 Q&A
Dream Holiday Destination?
Drink of Choice?
Coffee & Champagne, in that order
What are you Reading?
The Four Agreements, as everyone should. Hoping to start the Richest Man In Babylon soon.
World Wide Web Inspiration?
Hello Hair, that girl is killing it.
Your Home’s Inspiration?
Modern, organic with a hint of quirky. My husband & I both love all things modern & he considers himself earthy & safe to say I am quirky, so they are our key influences in the design & style of our home. I spend a lot of time on Instagram, current faves are: that_little_shop, roomhints, mintinteriordesign & myexterior just to name a few.
Place to Shop for Home wares?
Hmm, this is a tough one, because my house does somewhat resemble a Freedom catalogue but I am LOVING Mint Interior Design online at the moment.
Clarences, we went with great company so that made the night even more fab.
Fave Shop for Fashion?
For me, Ginger Owl in Scarborough, it’s within walking distance & there is always new stuff. For the kids I’d have to say Cotton On, those glittery tulle dresses last season had my girls swooning, not to mention the sparkly ballet flats!
Cheeky Sparrow, but only because I had a super delicious watermelon/vodka cocktail there Saturday night & I’m still dreaming about it.
What did you want to be when you Grew Up?
Actually a Doctor or a Lawyer. May have missed the mark slightly!
I want to thank Elsa for having us in her gorgeous home & the kids for being so well behaved! It was a pleasure!
