I have a bit of a funny story about this talented lady. Scrolling through Instagram one day & I come across an amazingly gorgeous curated feed featuring amazing shellac nails with beautiful, on trend nail art – I was obsessed! And this chick is in Doubleview just around the corner from me – yes! So I message her, can I make an appointment, blah blah. And she messages me back, “Shannon, it’s me Corrine – from school”. Ha! Little did I know my talented artist School Mum mate Corrine is also an amazing nail technician! Is there nothing this lady can’t do!?
So, let me tell you a little about this super cute, creative Mum of two (Jasper 13 & Lucas 7). Corinne also juggles David (they’ve just returned from their glamorous honeymoon in Europe as you do) & their gorgeous pooch Sven.
Corinne has always been a creative, her ink & resin art work (Corrine Kenny Art) is vibrant & found in stores around Perth & online. She also holds super popular art classes which allow people to try their hand at creating their own work of art under Corrine’s tutelage. More recently Corrine has been delving into the world of abstract art in acrylics. Corrine’s pieces are the perfect back drop to a bedroom or living area. All her art works are totally commission-able so the colours & mood can tie in to the space you’ll be hanging it.
I should add that all of this was going on while Corrine was holding down an Admin day job, dreaming of the day she could ditch the 9 to 5 and work creatively full time. Flash back to ten years ago when Corinne took on a nail technician course seeing this as another way to add some income & bring another creative element to her already amazing list of talents.
And just this year, that time has finally come & Corrine’s business – Luxe Nail Studio is now her full time job (other than artist & mama of course!).
Corrine has an amazing eye for colour & design. If you love the idea of signature nails that you won’t find on anyone else, then Corrine is the gal for you. There’s absolutely nothing tacky or dodgy here!
You can visit Corrine at her gorgeous home salon in Doubleview, Western Australia for a beautiful set of shellac & gel nails complete with Corrine’s beautiful contemporary nail art. You might even be lucky enough to get a cuddle with the adorable Sven, her Toy Spoodle!
You won’t find anywhere else in Perth quite like it.
Be sure to check out her Instagram accounts to see her amazing art & design – oh & that gorgeous pink Luxe Nail feed!
Coffee? Yes!! Every single morning without fail I have my double shot almond latte! Can’t function without it!
Dream Holiday Destination? Positano; although not a ‘dream’ as such anymore, because we have just returned from there for our honeymoon!! It was absolutely incredible; such a magical place! I feel so lucky that we were able to experience it.
Drink of Choice? Non-alcoholic: coffee (haha) or just plain old water! My favourite alcoholic drink is red wine; either a Shiraz or Tempranillo.
What Are You Reading? I am currently reading the Barefoot Investor, my husband says I need to be better with money!? Ha ha!
Insta & World Wide Web Inspiration? I love love love @AndiCsinger for fashion inspo, she is so effortless & nails the casual look. Along with my friend Nat from @the.other.f.word, she is an amazing stylist and also one to watch in the fashion department!!
Fave Place to Shop for Home wares? I love home wares, so this is a hard one! I do love Empire Home wares & also Granite Lane, both local & both stocking some amazing wares. I am also partial to a good old Kmart haul too! Who isn’t!? 😉
More online faves; ASOS, Gorman Clothing & Mister Zimi as well… I feel like this list is getting a little too long? (Refer back to Q4, what my husband said about me & money! haha!!)
Fave Restaurant? I loveeeee the food at Lulu La Delizia, in Subi. Hands down my fave Italian ever. We went there for my birthday dinner last year, and we just keep on returning, it’s so good. We also love Island Market in Trigg; our favourite place to take the kids.
Ideal Sunday? Of course, the day starts with coffee and a big brekky with our sons (Lucas & Jasper), and my husband David (who is usually the chef). When it’s warmer weather (loveee summer!!) we take our Toy Spoodle Sven down to the beach, and usually end the weekend with a BBQ / dinner with our friends or a family dinner with our parents! 🙂
A big thank you to Corrine (and Sven!) for welcoming us into your Salon for the day!
And thank you to my dear friend Ninka for taking such delightful photos! xx
