If there is one thing I’ve learnt from the time I’ve been blogging, it’s that bloggers are a pretty wonderful group of people. This might be that we all share something in common, the need to express ourselves in words & pictures. It also might be that we come from all corners of the world with interests so varied, there’s never a dull moment & always something to chat about!
Regardless of the reason, I am extremely lucky to have met both online & in real life some beautiful blogging ladies over the last year or so, who all offer me such support, advice & encouragement, I’m sure I wouldn’t be who I am today without them.
So, I introduce to you, The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. 10 questions put to 10 bloggers by a fellow blogger! Not so complicated!! I have been nominated by my friend, a chick with a fantastic name I might add, the lovely Shannon from My2Morrows. I love Shannon’s upbeat spin on everything she discusses, she loves to travel like me & she’s a very classy girl style wise! Pop on over & have a look at Shannon’s gorgeous blog.
Now, here are my questions from Shannon to answer:
How Did You Meet Your Significant Other?
Mr D & I met at a party that he was having. I showed up with a mutual friend of ours. We were 22 & having the time of our lives. I like to think it was love at first sight! This is a couple of years later – so fresh faced!!! We’ve been married for 16 years!!!
How Do You Find Joy?
I must admit that I have days that I feel so completely devoid of joy. Then someone asks me a question like this & I could rattle off a list a mile long of things that bring me joy! My children bring me total joy, their love, their cuddles, kisses & the funny things they say are the best things in life. Mr D brings me so much joy, he is my best friend & I couldn’t imagine my life without him in it. My friends & family are my joy too. Movies, travelling, bbqs on summer nights, cooking, relaxing, so much joy in my life, I’m a lucky gal!
Your Earliest Childhood Memory Is…?
Funny, I just spent the weekend in Adelaide where I was born (I’ve lived in Perth all my life though) for my cousin’s wedding & I relived so many wonderful childhood memories being there with all my family. My grandparent’s home was filled with memories that I loved sharing with my kids. I took them room to room showing them the same treasures I loved as a kid, the backyard where I climbed trees, picked veggies in the garden & spent hot nights sleeping under the stars.
What’s The Biggest Misconception People Assume About You?
Ha ha! That I’m outgoing & gregarious! I hide behind my blog. Writing makes me funnier, smarter & a whole lot more interesting! I’m actually very shy & struggle with small talk & meeting new people. I hope I’m getting better at it the older I get!
What Does Your Ideal Day Look Like?
Well, I’d be on holidays, with my family or the girls, wouldn’t mind which one really. Somewhere tropical. My breakfast would be on the beach, it would be warm & I’d be smiling already! Then I’d swim, read magazines & drink cocktails until my heart’s content! Food would play a large role in my day, prepared by somebody else naturally, with no dishes for me to do. Actually, there would be no chores for me to do & my children wouldn’t argue. The evening would be spent on the beach again, watching the sun going down, with a glass of bubbles & the people I love by my side. Don’t think I’m asking too much, do you??
What’s Your Most Successful Blog Post To Date?
It’s pretty close to a tie! It’s a post I did on Shopping In Bali which was gratefully shared by my friend Little Miss Bali on her Facebook page & strangely enough the first The Bachelor Fashion post I did! Bali & The Bachelor, two things very close to my heart!
Your Proudest Moment?
It’s a cliché I know, but I can’t go past my two kids. Oaks is 8 & The D-Man is 4. I am very proud of them every day & so proud of myself for playing a part in their incredible little personalities! I’m also pretty proud of the fact I’ve managed to keep them alive & me sane for this long!!
What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?
Mine’s not a what, it’s a who. I’d love to be Victoria Beckham. What’s not to love about her life, she was a Spice Girl after all!
3 Things You Are, 3 Things You Are Not?
I am patient, I am for the most part organised & I am a little bit lazy!
I am not tidy, I am not a fitness fanatic & I am not comfortable in large groups!
The Best Thing About Blogging Is… ?
The best thing about blogging is that I am able to live out my dreams. I can collate my favourite images, fashions, homewares & put them all in one little place that’s all mine. Hopefully someone else out there enjoys what I love too, but even if they don’t that’s not what blogging is about for me right now. The other great things about blogging is all the online friends I’ve made. They make my world a better place.
So thank you Shannon for having me take part in the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award – I guess if nothing else you’ve learnt a little bit about me!
I am now going to nominate just 5 of my favourite bloggers, this award has been doing the rounds for a while now & I think pretty much everyone has already participated.
