Restyle2015 is a community initiative run by the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival which I played along with for the month of September.
Perth creative & the community were invited to be involved in Restyle & take their own photos of their op-shop styling using the prompts provided by the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival especially for Restyle.
I’m not an op-shopper & when I do, it’s usually for an 80’s party dress up or costume for the kids.
I really loved my op-shop experience this time around. I took my time scanning the racks & trying things on. There are some great pieces & labels to pick up at bargain prices if you can take the time to wander & visit regularly to keep an eye on the new incoming pieces.
I didn’t create an entire outfit from op shop items, I incorporated a piece or two into an existing look from my wardrobe to make it work for my everyday style.
I’m really excited to let you know that I’m taking part in the Restyle 2015 Fashion Parades in Perth City on the 18th & 20th of September. If you want to come along & say hi, I’ll be the one trying not to fall down the run way rather than walking it! You can find all the info here.
I should note also, that I took all these photos on my iphone & uploaded them to Instagram as I went along.
The Restyle2015 challenge lasted 3 weeks, but I am going to share with you some of my favourite looks I created with my op-shop pieces & my purchases. I didn’t pay more than $12 a piece for any of these items & they all came from either Good Sammy’s Osborne Park or St Vinnies Scarborough or Ebay.
