It’s really important to shop local & support the small businesses around us. Shop Small is a movement dedicated to encouraging us to support our community & give our local small businesses more customers. So in recognition of this movement & the fact that I am lucky enough to live in an area with a lot of really great small businesses, I am taking you on a tour!
The first stop on the Shop Small tour of my neighbourhood, Doubleview/Scarborough in the western suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, is one of my favourite places to shop, boutique Ginger Owl.
Ginger Owl has saved me many times, the perfect dress for my 20 year school reunion (yes, 20, that’s not a typo!), the comfiest pair of summer pants ever & more too-cute-to-pass-by tees than I care to think about!
Ginger Owl is a one stop fashion shop. Their stock is diverse, suiting all elements of the coastal Perth lifestyle. Fun & boho for Sunday arvo drinks with the girls, slinky pants & dresses for a night out in Leederville. Ginger Owl has something for the every-girl. There is an excellent range of prices too, you can pick up a bargain or splurge on a statement piece.
They also stock a gorgeous range of home wares including cushions, candles & bowls, simple & statement jewellery, shoes, bags, swimwear, jeans & shorts. Plenty of gorgeous bits & pieces for that hard to buy for friend this Christmas! I might have even added a sweet little pair of star stud earrings & those tropical drink coasters to my own wish list!
The store is light & bright & easy to navigate. It’s small enough to be able to stroll your way through each rack without missing a thing. The staff are excellent, the girls are always happy to help you find exactly what you are after & they’re friendly! I’m sure most of the customers are regulars & everyone is treated that way – gorgeous!
Brands stocked include Ebony & Eve, Mink Pink, Bird & Kite, Shona Joy, Nobody & Totem.
You’ll find Ginger Owl at Shop 1, 80-82 Scarborough Beach Road, Scarborough & look them up on Facebook for loads of the latest looks in store.
I might have even made a sneaky purchase while I was in Ginger Owl taking these happy snaps last week. Couldn’t resist! Have you been to Ginger Owl? Are you lucky enough to have a local boutique that you visit?
