Down In The School Yard

June 30, 2014
Last week was a shocker. The D Man came down with a stomach flu on the Friday night. Oaks got it Monday night & I followed up the rear by coming down with it Wednesday. Needless to say, there were plenty of tears, naps & uncooked meals. I washed load after load of towels, sheets & pjs. We were all exhausted. But as all good things do, it has finally come to an end.

In the meantime, my illness meant I missed my monthly catch up with my WAGS. We were heading out for dinner & II had been really looking forward to seeing them all together again & was looking forward to adding all the goss to the blog! Don’t you hate that?!

On a lighter not though, later in the week, once recovered, I did get to catch up with my School Mums.

As Oaks is only in Year 1, School Mums are a new thing for me. I’ve watched my friends with older kids form some fantastic School Mum friendships over the years & am super glad to report that I’m doing the same.

School Mums are unique friends. You spend so much time with these women before & after school five days a week while your kids are small. Your only common thread in the beginning, your children. And yet, you find similarities, you share differences & you form bonds. And luckily for me, I’ve found some fantastic ladies that I love spending time with!

Have you found friends at your kids school?
